Hot Shots Part Deux/Hot Shots II by the Beta Band matching up

Can someone please validify/contradict the persistent rumers that if one watches the 1991 Charlie Sheen action spoof "Hot Shots Part Deux" while listening to the Beta Band's Hot Shots II everything "matches up" eerily well a la Dark Side of the Moon/Wizard of Oz? I was going to try this out tonight but, to my shock and dismay "Hot Shots Part Deux" was not in the "49 cent retals" section but the "Employee Favorites" section and my name ain't Rockefeller if you know what I mean! I might go ahead and make the 2 dollar (!) investment if it does "match up" and I can get my friend "Chuck" (name changed to protect the guilty!) to "smoke me out." Thank you, any information would really be beyond useful.

um, seriously though. i would love this to be true but i have never heard a single rumour to this effect, persistent or otherwise.

one problem might be that Hot Shots Part Deux is about 90 minutes long, and Hot Shots II is only about 45 minutes long. are you supposed to play it twice?

either way, pay the extra $2, it's worth it. happy to help!

Is the same true of Primal Scream's Vanishing Point? It's not like you need to hear the dialogue in that film anyway.

Vanishing Point is better if you listen to the album while watching it!

On a Beta Band tip meanwhile, if anyone cares, the new album should be out this year. They've sacked Tom Rothcock (Beck producer, who was also sacked by Suede while they were recording the last album...!) and are self-producing this time. Apparently the new stuff sounds like "the milky-way in a teacup" which is the best description I've ever heard of what was great about the Hot Shots sound. Can't wait!

surely dark side of the moon is much shorter than that wizard of oz as well?
never heard the beta band thing though, but i know primal scream said they intended vanishing point to work as a soundtrack for the film

Geez... everyone knows you start it when the Cowardly Lion roars the first time!!

Thanks folks! But, surely, someone out there has tried doing this at some time or another. I know your out there! Did it work??

All the boring samey parts of the album matched perfectly to all the groanworthy gag parts in the movie.

It has to be a certain version of DSoTM and a certain laserdisc edition of WoO for this trick to work. (Disclaimer: I've never tried this, so I don't know if its horseshit or not.)
