I'ts at the start of a Larry Levan set (Paradise Garage) from 1985 I wuz listening to at deephousepage.com. The song has a vocal "I'm leaving, I'm leaving, I'm leaving, I'm leaving today/I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going away". Stomping beat and "The Message"-esque synths. Anyway it's great, does anyone know what it is or is my description too vague?

Hi,

Heard in River Island...

Backing sounds like Ramones' "Sheenah is a punk rocker"

Vocal = girl, lyrics like "Do you want me" or something like that.

slightly sludgy guitars in this

zvookster, Monday, 10 January 2011 16:26 (thirteen years ago) link

I've got one - a single descending delicate piano riff for about 5-6 minutes, mix thickened by some choice musique concrete, and a Scouse woman blathering on and on about 'John Lennon' and 'shite' and whatnot over the top

it's really quite affecting, fucked if I know what it is

If that link is the Cheap Trick song, that's not it.

This thread seems as good a place to ask this as any (if there's a more appropriate place, please let me know...)

Between six and ten seconds in, there's a very short piece of sampled music (late 60s maybe? early 70s?). At the very start you'll hear a short acoustic guitar chord, a short snip of gospel vocals (Get on Board Little Children) then...WHAT IS IT?
Thank you to anyone who can help!

listening to zvookster's one and it isn't this but this is cool - and it MIGHT be the same woman although the one in my one is iirc more excitable and high-pitched
