.....doesn't seem to have been updated in quite a while (though the intro blurb does give a nod to current events in the world). The were stilling playing live for a while, but that's stopped. Under the "record news" section, it says they were going to release a single (dubbed somewhat flamboyantly Made Glorious Summer, an allusion to Shakespeare's "Richard III"), but those plans fell through and that they're now working on that album. It's said that, however, for about three or four years now. Whattup? The last update in the "Other News" section was in December 2001.

I know Eldritch likes to take his fucking time, but it's been quite a long damn while. If they've called it quits, why then still the website? What gives?

Yeah, but how can he ask someone to sing "This Corrosion" to him when he's doing it in the song itself? Doesn't this involve some loophole in the time/space continuum? Man, self-centered-ness is one thing, but this is too fucking far.

this makes me laugh everytime i read it(yes,i check for updates often, why??): Gibson Firebird '76 reissue
A crap guitar, with nothing original on it except the wood. No sustain, neck heavy, fragile, doesn't feedback very well at all, hard to play, sounds thin. Looks great. I love it. My main axe which I've played in every Sisters show since Summer 1993. Yes, I am shallow

I realize it's a little o/t to bring up "The Tennessee Waltz" in the context of a Sisters of Mercy thread, but that song presents a similar conundrum. If the song is "The Tennessee Waltz," and the singer is recounting (in the past tense) how he was dancin' with his darlin' to "The Tennessee Waltz," how can he be dancing to the song in which he's singing about how he was dancing to it? Some sort of alternate universe stuff going on there. Raises the possibility that the guy who stole his darlin' (while they were dancin' to the song he's singing about them) could actually be him coming back in time to take her away before she can be taken by the guy who took her away -- which was really him too, except he doesn't know it, nor does he realize that the guy singing the song he's dancing to is also him, a future version of himself sending back a message in the form of a hit record to warn himself about the guy (him again, remember) who's going to steal his darlin'. But he gets the warning too late, so he has to go back in time to try to stop it from happening...
Uh...ok, I'm done. Back to the goths.

Ally's right about the parsing of the chorus - he is demanding that his own song, 'This Corrosion', be sung back to him. As for whether the act requires time travel, I think not.
He's asking the chick or chicks - probably the bunch of classically trained goth opera chicks who feature in the backing choir on the song - to sing 'This Corrosion' to him, so that he can be satisfied they know the song.
There is no need for a time warp. They can sing it to him as soon as he's finished asking them to. They can sing over the top of his version if they like, or wait for him to finish first, so that they can be sure that know the song.
As a parallel example, I might say to you, 'Imitate my speaking voice'. I am not requiring you to step back in time. You may do it as soon as the request is made. People are far too ready to violate the laws of time in my opinion, where this is not necessary.
