Okay- classic or dud?

Classic.

Sean (Sean), Sunday, 9 November 2003 06:05 (twenty years ago) link

Verrrrry classic, that one. There's a lot of good stuff on that first album of his. Slinky as hell song.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 9 November 2003 06:08 (twenty years ago) link

I want you to be my baby.

Chris Ott (Chris Ott), Sunday, 9 November 2003 06:14 (twenty years ago) link

What happened to this guy? I always liked "Wishing Well."

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Sunday, 9 November 2003 06:41 (twenty years ago) link

is there a lee perry mix of this?

gaz (gaz), Sunday, 9 November 2003 09:34 (twenty years ago) link

If only.

TTD (as he shall henceforth be known) actually made a damn good album back in the day. Too bad he couldn't make two.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Sunday, 9 November 2003 09:57 (twenty years ago) link

"symphony or damn" is pretty good!

Pablo Cruise (chaki), Sunday, 9 November 2003 10:30 (twenty years ago) link

it musta been a joke then. i heard it played on radio back in the day with sheeps bleating over the top. the dj announced it was a scratch remx...

gaz (gaz), Sunday, 9 November 2003 11:19 (twenty years ago) link

Classic. While I find some of his other stuff a bit overrated, this one is clearly a classic. A beautiful song!

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Sunday, 9 November 2003 12:16 (twenty years ago) link

Classic, especally "shoo-de-wop-wop"'s in the middle-eight.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Sunday, 9 November 2003 16:26 (twenty years ago) link

he kinda re-wrote it with "delicate" didn't he?

cinniblount (James Blount), Sunday, 9 November 2003 18:34 (twenty years ago) link

Dunno. I stopped paying attention after this record.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Sunday, 9 November 2003 19:45 (twenty years ago) link

I must confess this song's never done much for me. "Wishing Well" is classic though.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Sunday, 9 November 2003 20:05 (twenty years ago) link

That's `cos you've never truly been in love, Anthony.

(kidding)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Sunday, 9 November 2003 20:06 (twenty years ago) link

haha I wanna see someone argue that as the key to appreciating "As Yet Untitled."

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Sunday, 9 November 2003 20:12 (twenty years ago) link

i've heard derrick carter play an absolutely killer bootleg of 'dance little sister' that made subtle improvements that worked a miracle on the dancefloor. i doubt this has been released and is probably one of his own creations. anyone have any more info on this?

heywood jablomi (heywood), Monday, 10 November 2003 03:54 (twenty years ago) link

"As Yet Untitled" is GORGEOUS!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 10 November 2003 14:33 (twenty years ago) link

Classic. So sultry.
Not much controversy over this one.
(Thread ends shortly thereafter.)

Even I overlook Introducing the Hardline in favor of Symphony or Damn, one of the greatest albums of the nineties; but listening to "Who Loves You" and "Seven More Days" this morning it's going up in estimation

There IS a Lee Perry mix of this song. It's got goats, babies, the works. And a sweet valentine to Scratch from Terence on the label: http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=928359
