maybe "peer pressure is bad/if yr friends are jerks/but mine are cool/so it's ok" (jad) or maybe "i hope nothing happens at the high school tonight/...i hope nobody breaks into the principal's office/& cut his chair with a razor blade/& spray painted motherfucker on his wall" (david)...tuff call!

It was ten or so years ago, but I sorta remember the lyrics going something like...

Put on your dress of orange
We'll go buy a door hinge
I hope I don't make you cor-inge

Oh, Juanita...

(also, the entirety of "I Don't Want to Have Mono No More")

"it was so sad what happened to pete rose. after all he did for baseball, it's just not right." or something like that, on "Always".

seven years pass...

have been having a hankering to listen to half japanese but i keep forgetting to do anything about it when i'm at a place where i can listen to music

i used to own "music to strip by" as a high-schooler and was kind of mystified by it but also loved it.

feel like a lot of the new wave of lo-fi bands owe a lot to half japanese, especially jad's singing

i think my best friend from middle school had the same guitar, ordered mail-order out of the sears catalog

I just found Charmed Life in my car the other day and was listening to it again. It holds up really well. I still like the lyric about I've got a silver car, not painted silver, real silver!

that's a good line, from "Miracles Can Happen".

there are so many great ones to choose from, but I gotta go with the one from "Bogue Millionaires/Cool Millionaires" where he says "and then I'm gonna go over to Margaux Hemingway's house... and I'm just gonna look at her, ya know?... whew, cool."
