I have 6 CDs. One is a double-disc. So 7 then. Nine if you count the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan/Michael Brooke colab ones. They're all every single one of them the HAWT SHIYAWT. Best getting-high-and-fucking-music ever to have lyrics in languages I don't speak about a diety.

I like the singing of his nephew, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

Just saw Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan last night in Washington DC before several thousands(99% South Asian if you're wondering about the demographics). Wide vocal range on his mix of pop, qawwali, and Lollywood & Bollywood songs. Powerful too.

Wish an editor would fix the spelling in the title (even if its 11 years since someone started the thread).

The songs Sabri performed are part of a Sufi tradition dating back to the 13th century. Known as Qawwalis, steeped in mysticism and sometimes based on mystic poetry, they are a key part of the spiritual life of millions of Muslims across south Asia and enjoyed by wider audiences of many faiths.
