listening to his new album. i'd never heard of him. kinda cool, kinda creepy. ever wonder what an 11 year old choirgirl with a serious elliot smith fixation trapped in the body of a grown man sounds like? me neither, but it's sorta hypnotic in a way. it's either unbearably poignant and sweet or the soundtrack to the next disturbing serial killer horror flick.

BUT - Scott, I started a thread on this yesterday but no one responded. There's a FANTASTIC new band called Death Vessel - and, this may sound lke hyperbole, but the dude in that band literally makes Jeff Hanson sound rather manly! I mean, with Jeff, once you find out it's a dude, it's like, "oh...ok. I can hear that, I guess." With the guy in Death Vessel, there's no way to wrap your head around the fact that you're not hearing a girl. I find pretending it IS a girl increases my enjoymnet of it quite a bit. But the SONGS - the songs are really really great. I've been enjoying this record a lot all week. Slsk is on the fritz, esle I'd direct you o'er to download the song "Mean Streak"

i never heard the last one, reo. i like genderconfusion in music. jimmy scott, that dood from cindytalk, oh there are tons. princess tinymeat. and i was always fond of jimi's caterwauling. especially on "Why". that song is intense. you could definitely trick people with hanson and tell people it was emmylou harris's teenage daughter or something.

Listening to his self titled album on a lovely spring afternoon. Wish this guy was still around.
