I've been looking into this, but i need a suggestion.
They seem to put so many out on all these no-name labels.

"Muddy Waters At Newport"
"Fathers And Sons"

Both of these are worth hearing.

Newport is the one that jumps out in my mind.

Muddy "Mississippi" Waters Live is a nice document of the Blue Sky-era Johnny Winter/Pinetop Perkins band.

"Fathers And Sons"

There is only a handful of live tracks on this one, which were added on when they remastered the album.
The main album is studio, correct?

Was there a live lp recorded about 1958 on a uk tour where the band was raucous heavy electric? I think I read a review of something like that a couple of decades ago and would love to get it if it exists.
Or anything like that from the US or Europe? Prior to the folk revival marketing him as 'authentic' by making him acoustic.

Think I was misremembering a review. Muddy & Otis Spann toured in 58 with the Chris Barber band apparently the first night had the pair playing like they would in Chicago but they'd toned down by the next night when Live in 1958 was recorded in Manchester. Came out in '82 but not sure when or where I saw it reviewed.

I've never heard of a "raucous heavy electric" live Muddy album from the '50s, but would also love to hear such a thing if it exists. Poking around on Spotify did lead me to Live At The Fillmore Auditorium, San Francisco, CA Nov. 04-06 1966 though which I hadn't heard of before and is sounding quite nice at the moment.

no one ever answered my question about Mannish Boy up there btw (which I have managed to confirm is not the 1955 single - it sound like a live clip?)
