Help me identify this 1995ish female rap song.

At least I think it was '95. And I think it qualified as rap. Goes: "It's five o'clock in the mor-nin/Where you gonna be?/OUTSIDE ON THE CORNER." I think it sounded like MC Lyte. I heard it once, and never again. It's bothered me ever since. While it seems eminently googlable, I haven't had any luck.

i'm pretty sure it's nonchalant, not heather b....i loved that song!

does anyone remember RAM Squad? that song was cool, around the same time, and I always associated the two together for some reason...

ten years pass...

Not 1995ish, but I heard a rap tune in a clothes store in Lisbon last week, and I forgot to write down the lyrics, so I was wondering if anyone can recognize it? Here's what I remember of it:

- It had two female rappers doing the vocals.

- The beat was clubby and electronic, kinda upbeat and pretty fast. (Not trap-style slow.)

- It sounded pretty new, probably made in the last few years.

- The chorus was rapped and it had them trading lines, i.e. one would rap a line, then other one would do the next line, then the other one again, etc.

- I think the chorus included the words "semantics" and "black", maybe also "kitchen"? I remembered being suprised that the chorus lyrics were pretty analytical and even academic, because sonically the tune sounded like upbeat party rap.

- It kinda reminded me of Yo Majesty, but I don't think it was them... Or at least it wasn't from the 2008 album, which I think was the only one they ever made.

Oh yeah, and the rappers were American, or at least had an American accent.
