feels like matt sweeney is suddenly all over the place? he was interviewed on har mar superstar's podcast, which was kind of annoying; he's in endless boogie; he's got this new thing on vice's music site where he talks to guitarists about playing guitar, which seems pretty cool so far (here he is with josh homme: http://noisey.vice.com/guitar-moves/josh-homme-1)

Anyone have any idea where to find a video of when they played this song on Fallon in 2011? It was originally a "web only bonus performance" but the video link expired long ago, and I'm not sure why they would have ever had it expire at all...
Some links for their TV performance of "Laugh Track" are still alive, which is great.

nbc sucks about keeping fallon performances around. i've gone looking for other things from a couple years ago and they're nowhere to be found.

Sweeney had also posted a short video of the test pressing playing with audio but I guess he took it down

Vocals, 3 revving engines & a really long drum fill... yup it's a Chavez song!
Sounds great. Very excited about this!
― Evan, Wednesday, 16 November 2016 18:43 (seven years ago) link
yeah it's growing on me the more i listen to it
― na (NA), Wednesday, 16 November 2016 18:44 (seven years ago) link
Besides being more upfront in the mix, I'm having trouble articulating what is different about his delivery here. Trying a more classic rock thing rather than the 90s vocalist conventions maybe? That probably makes no sense.
― Evan, Wednesday, 16 November 2016 18:48 (seven years ago) link
Liked that

guess i missed the revive in june but i had no idea this was coming. so psyched.
― call all destroyer, Wednesday, 16 November 2016 18:58 (seven years ago) link
yeah his singing on the old stuff is more calm deadpan, almost pretty sometimes. here it's more typical rock'n'roll raspy singing. threw me off at first but i'm over it/
― na (NA), Wednesday, 16 November 2016 19:58 (seven years ago) link
it's a bit like his singing on a song like "relaxed fit"
― call all destroyer, Wednesday, 16 November 2016 19:58 (seven years ago) link
yeah i guess

That’s great... I love that song. I have a CD somewhere by a hardcore-ish band with a good cover of it, but can’t remember their name.
