THE PIANO CHOIR

Hello all... I am new here and I will provide a formal introduction a bit later, but for now I need a little help... In 1973 a group consisting in part, of Stanley Cowell, Hugh Lawson, Webster Lewis and Sonelius Smith, formed a group called the Piano Choir... I have been able to find only two albums they made, Handscapes One,and Handscapes Two... They were recorded on Strata East Records... Dose anyone know if they recorded any other pieces, and or where I might find them... Thanks...

according to this http://www.freeform.org/music/Strataeast.html and allmusic, they've only got those two albums.

fans of THE PIANO CHOIR should check out basically everything stanley cowell did in the 70s and early 80s. frinstance:

oh rad! gonna listen now.

ha, i'm actually not totally sure about the other jaboobie jam. it kinda reminds me of listening to roland kirk's solo take on ecclusiastics

like i am feeling it but there is a bunch of stuff that's just missing cause of how the other take sits in my head. i mean no-one is even hollering over the top.

the piano choir are so rad, anyway. i've got vinyl rips of the records & they're kinda too long to listen to in any focused way, but my ears really prick up listening to it.
