I've been sorting through my music library and came across this unidentified but quite good UK DIY track. It opens with brittle early Fall-like guitars and the opening lyrics are:
I see a crowd of people at the side of a car High above the hillside it's much too far Awake you're working all hours you miss out the day Don't even bother writing it down you'll just be thinking about what the people will say

Thanks for the help.

ummm, you looked at the tag, right? it says "Restricted Hours" under Album Artist.
from http://homepage.ntlworld.com/acidstings/ASTRONAUTS.htm.html "in 1979 an ep was released under the assumed name of RESTRICTED HOURS on the Stevenage Rock Against Racism label.'Getting Things Done' attacked the political apathy of smalltown life while 'Still Living Out The Carcrash' was musically a typically nightmarish theme."

No, it's mislabeled, it's not Restricted Hours "Getting Things Done", which I have on a Messthetics compilation.

I like it, too, but I can't place it. It's going to drive me nuts though because I could swear I've heard another song with that same guy singing. Argh.

I'm sure this got figured out years ago, but I just came across it. Song is "Burning Caroline" by the Decadent Few. Originally on the Rough Cuts comp 7". Later on some Messthetics CDs, principally the one focusing on Wales.
