thankfully, its fucking monster of an album so i suspect even if i had heard more, it would still be the one for me.

It's 2. I mean Hex sounds great on first listen and I sure the other post-hiatus stuff is worthwhile, but 2 is just an incredible listen.

Good lord it's barely an hour long.

dunno, even though there's crossover obviously, I think of the 21st century Earth as a whole different band than the 20th Century "Earth 2" band. So this'll be tough, guess it'll have to be either Earth 2 or Bees. Earth 2 is soooooooo good. But Bees is sooooo good in a different way.

It's interesting to read the positive comments about Pentastar. I bought that one several years ago, and never really got into it. I must give it another try.

Nah, I'm me...and I generally like noisy shit. I have 2. Dig it, dig their sound, but friends have told me the later stuff is more accessible.

The thing with "bees" is that the live versions on the radio earth lp are superior to the studio versions.

i ended up voting for Earth 2 -- even though some of the later stuff is more pleasant to listen to, Earth 2 is so monumental and amazing ... Dunno, it'd be like voting against the Grand Canyon or something.

i think i've requested this on every Earth thread ever but if any one has a digitized copy of the VHS that came with either Earth 2 or the first one, I would love to watch again please.

I personally think it lacks the epic quality of other Earth stuff. To me it sounds like a reasonably conventional rock band instrumental. And definitely the most interesting song on the album.

Extra Capsular was recorded at Smegma studio and has some Cobain on it. I still like Pentastar best though.

This doesn't make sense to me. Is this the consensus apart from ILX, too? I remember Hex being touted as a kind of undisputed masterpiece at the time, and it's still my favorite (maybe by far?). Maybe I need to listen to TBMHITLS again...

Also, these vinyl reissues look mighty fine. Not a lotta Earth talk on ILX these days, huh? Been jammin' the drcarlsonalbion soundtrack thing quite a bit lately, love the new Earth single, think dude's on a roll. Just me?

New Earth album Primitive and Deadly out in September. I agree with you about Hex and I think he's kind of lost his way a bit since then.

the last two doomy country outings were not very exciting.

I'm biased but the new one is VERY different to the 2 Angels records. If I had to compare it to anything from the back catalog I'd say Bees meets Pentastar

bloody hell its good.
the band need to make a full album with rabia.
so, have now ordered, hex (and have it already via the auto rip groove), and angels of darkness pt 2.
this is perfect dark nights music.

latest album hits the ilm metal top 10 and this is the extent of love.

cannot wait to get angels of darkness pt2 (f*ckin' xmas post !) ..
