No thread for her, it seems! We're only talking about the American equivalent in terms of quality of Dave Pearce, after all -- hey, they've collaborated for a reason. New album on Kranky and I'll be reviewing it for Pitchfork.

She does keep the FSA flag flying, and I loved the Clear Horizon album. Listening now to the new one on Spotify....thanks for the heads-up.

if one were to get a couple of her albums, which ones should they pick?

I'd go with her self-titled album (quiet, loosely-structured drones and mantralike vocals — her Popol Vuh album) and At the Down-Turned Jagged Rim of the Sky (tight, immaculately produced dreampop with a gothy edge that reminds me of Lycia). Feels Like Home (her acoustic album) is great too, but I'm less keen on her first two albums.

Seconding S/T and At the Down-Turned... and adding in the Clear Horizon collaboration with Dave Pearce of Flying Saucer Attack.

Yeah I guess there's a consensus. Thanks.

locating an LP of At the Down-Turned Jagged Rim of the Sky in an antique store's basement was one of my better thrifting moments

Both 'Even in Silence' and 'Hour of the Trace' are pure classic imo. I learned of Bailiff through this compilation that I picked up at the time.
I need to listen to 'At the Down-Turned..' more, I've not spent enough time with it.
