reading about "planetarium" at BAM and seeing Oktophonie at the Armory last night made me think that some band should do a specialty tour maybe utilizing planetarium equipment. But maybe this has already happened? I saw that espers had done one planetarium show at some point.

sort of using specialized spaces to for music, kind of like harry and the potters did when they did a library tour.

with nooooo songs about neil degrasse tyson or carl sagan, plz.

we are all made of stars,

Emeralds should have definitely done this before they split imo

That Lester Bangs' piece about seeing a Tangerine Dream concert on cough mixture was at a planetarium I think?

dj food last year.
made a complete 360 film for his recent 'search engine' album (though of course it was all re-edited into new forms) that was shown at a few planetariums ..
app. the longest 360 film for music to date.
totally intense on the senses ..

I saw the Flaming Lips perform next to a radio telescope a couple of years ago. That was the perfect setting for the band. They projected images about space onto the surface of the dish which sort of dwarfed the band.

DJ Food's show has only played two planetaria but he wants to take it to more:

one year passes...

did Emerald Web really play at a planetarium? that's amazing; I would give anything to have seen that. ditto for Iasos, Laurie Spiegel, Isao Tomita, or really any of those hyper-melodic contemporary composers of that era. I bet the Durutti Column playing in a venue like that might be rad too.

as far as contemporary acts, I would slit throats to see Oneohtrix Point Never or Nils Frahm or (God permitting) Delia Gonzalez & Gavin Russom play a planetarium. also Lindstrom.

I was at the debut of the new Shabazz Palaces album, which was held in a planetarium.

I turned my high school's tiny home built planetarium into a recording studio if that counts. No tour though.
