NME's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list is presented as five 100-page slideshows. That's a new record, right?

Also the brief text by each record is priceless. Short, un-proofed intern copy, and the blurbs just get shorter and sloppier the deeper you get into the list. This one is probably my favorite:

Young first collaboration with Crazy Horse is full of energy.

Haven't seen the 200s writeups yet but I wouldn't be surprised if they were just asdf;akssdajg keyboard smashes. You can really see the blurbs shrink and run out of steam as you click through them

A absolute timeless classic, who's voice still make your hairs stand on end.

"The Chicago soul man at his most affectionate and striking."
"One of Johnny Marr’s favourite albums, this is the cult English folkie’s finest work."

Like, these are supposed to be the BEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIME, but the write ups read like homework assignments. NME writers voice more excitement and enthusiasm in the typical "buzz band plays Jimmy Kimmel" post than it does in most of these

Good list with great writing from some of my fax ILXers, but 90 slides is too many slides.

Are there any readers who actually prefer to take in lists of this length in slideshow form?

Nope, of course not. But the click counters love 'em, they aren't going anywhere.

Another great example of an article I would probably read (and very much enjoy) if it were displayed on one or two pages instead of 41

This is one of the EOY lists I was looking forward to reading, but I just can't click through 51 pages
