Nice start to the thread, that Warpaint is fantastic and has me even more anxious to hear it.

Is "WARPAINT" slightly askew? Like the T is higher than the W? Could just be my eyes finding the red on black tough.

IDGI. Seems pretty generic-ethereal to me? With a nod to the old 'many heads in one' cover trope. I don't dislike it at all, I just don't see what there is to love.

I love multiple exposure photo art, so whether it's new/novel or not is irrelevant imo. It looks neato.

It's just beautiful. The colors are amazing. Look at that swath of red going from the one shirt to the next - and onto some hair?

They look like smoke. The black border gives it a 1980s cassette feel or something

And the shade of green almost reminds me of Dr.Feelgood. The Chambers cover looks nice too.

I'm afraid I don't have any deeper reason than I like how it looks.

I haven't seen it in person but I suspect Ghettoville is all about the packaging, ppl on discogs complaining about how cheap and rough it is and how it damages the records

i guess a million noise acts probably already wrote the book w/r/t "sculptural" packaging, though

lion lady = the cover art for Single's Rea, painted by their labelmate Javier Aramburu from the band Family. the rough American equivalent would be Devendra Banhart painting Joanna Newsom's face on a wolf's body, whereupon Joanna gushed about how "it's so empowering!" and "wolf is my spirit animal!"

It's from sometime in the past two years. A close-up of a guy's head with his mouth open, covered in shiny paints of different colours.

Sounds like something Battles would do. Except I don't think their album covers have people on them.
