Haven't been aware of CoH since his contribution to the raster-noton 20' to 2000 monthly series... 15 years ago. But then I haven't been aware of much since then.

and i haven't been much aware of him since his excellent above air circa 2006 or so, which i preferred at the time to the early coh

i like the dryness of this music sometimes, he hasn't ventured too far away from his fairly hermetic mid 00s soundworld and it's good to return to

'Enter Tinnitus' was a go-to raster noton record. Very pure aesthetic, great listening. 'Post-Pop' is the only other one I have, the first one I remember where he really embraced the beats and the overtone pop, in the vein of that youtube above. Looking forward to hearing more.

I have a borrowed copy of the "Love Uncut" EP sitting in my listen-to pile, all I own is the double 7" and the 20 to 2000 thing. I need more, this kind of music isn't very well served by streaming/MP3.

i used to think ilpo vaisanen's 'asuma' was a bit coh-like, although i haven't played it in years

seven months pass...

Editions Mego will release COH's To Beat Or Not To Beat, a vinyl set combining his recent album To Beat with new remixes, on November 24, 2014.

As that record was only issued on CD, the label has prepared a deluxe set with some estimable remixers. Composer and Yellow Magic Orchestra member Ryuichi Sakamoto and Foetus founder JG Thirwell submit versions of album tracks, while Matmos contributes two reinterpretations of To Beat's "BECHA-KPACHA." Check out the latter's "Crunchtime Mix" below.
