I believe that proof of a tungsten-solid, bank of england-backed, jeevsian reliability has been provided in this thread that AAD has a copper-bottomed, unimpeachable claim on the entire concept of hypersolipsism.

However, as you are all clearly constructs, perhaps it is I who should plant my gold-grubbing flag first. I came up with it. Me. Me. Me.

and then the light shone through the parted curtains and the voice of an angle proclaimed......

Results 1 - 1 of 1 for spokeshave.wav. (0.09 seconds)

Ah, that utterly calming voice.....

It has become my lifes work to study this short (14.786 seconds) but revealing sound clip.

Thus far I have discerned that it was recorded at approximately 3:17 PM local time. Due to the rate of slowing of the ticking of the clock that is barely audible. This time was calculated from the worldwide average time for winding such timepieces. 9:14PM if you are interested.

The recording was made through an inexpensive desktop microphone located about one foot to the right of the person speaking.

Embedded in the background noise a passing van or small truck can be heard through the open window. Speed of said vehicle is 32MPH.

The natural reverb/echo of the room suggests a smallish room of just over 100 square feet.

The speaker has recently ingested a beverage containing a milk product thus lending an ever so slight phlegmy sound to the voice. Said beverage also contained caffeine causing a slight waver to the voice on words ending in the letter "S". Tea with cream is my best guess.

The most obvious part of the recording is at the very end when the distinct double click sound of a microsoft mouse can be heard. Less noticable is the sound of the mouse moving across the wood grain of the desk. Not as coarse as oak but not as fine as mahogany... I would say something in the poplar family or maybe a birdseye maple.

There is alot more in this recording.... I have barely scratched the surface here, but I don't want to sound (no pun intended) creepy or anything.

In no sense could this sort of scholarly work be considered anything other than an effort of the highest calibre, and a noble calling to boot.

That one man should sacrifice friends, family, health and personal hygiene in headlong reckless pursuit of the purest of goals: knowledge for its own sake, brings a tear to my rheumy eye.

Matt, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 10:09 (sixteen years ago) link

Does the rank of the person calling to boot really matter in the modern age?
