(Rozema often tells the story of how Gibson came up to him when he was being put on a stetcher, teary-eyed, guaranteeing that the team would win the game for him. What did Gibson do? Won the game with a home run.)

Can I just give a big FU to MLB for not getting on board with youtube? I can easily find virtually every great NBA highlight from the past 50 years, but for baseball there isn't jack shit on there. Almost every link in this thread is dead -- removed due to a copyright claim.

First game of the '74 Series, in its entirety. MLB is fiendish about copyright, so I wouldn't expect this to be up for long.

"This telecast presented by authority of Major League Baseball, intended solely for the private, non-commercial use of our audience. Any publication, reproduction, retransmission, or other use of the pictures without the express written consent of the Commissioner of Baseball is prohibited." Heard Curt Gowdy say that so many times, suddenly very poignant--welcome to 2013, Curt.
The thing that always catches me short watching old games is how fast they clip along. I don't know why they're all rushing--the entire country outside is falling apart.

I was at Shea for this, four weeks after Seaver was traded. Check out the last quartet to be introduced. (Also Bill Wambsganss, who turned the unassisted triple play in the 1920 WS.)
