and if his failure to trade byrd/papelbon/cliff/hamels/anyone to shore up a terrible farm system hasn't gotten him fired yet, then what's left?

like the sox farm system was just named #1 in baseball by baseball america, they have really valuable prospects who are just not as valuable as swihart or castillo or owens that they'd prob give up - deven marrero, sean coyle, garin cecchini, rodriguez. in terms of major leaguers i'm sure the sox wouldn't want to lose holt's utility value but if push came to shove they could and it'd be fine.

shit, if allen craig could figure out how to hit again and develop actual trade value they'd prob ditch him in a heartbeat given how crowded that outfield is
