Season opens on April 5 this year – lets set the draft for, saaaayyy... Sunday March 29th – 3pm.
Which means I would like your keeper selects posted by March 15th, please. Registration hasn't opened yet, but as soon as it does, I will send out invites and provide a link.

Settings changes this year; due to popular demand: Holds and Saves are going to become one stat (SV+HLD) and we are adding a "NA" slot to everyone's roster.

I believe all our managers are returning, so good luck guys – I'm looking to repeat this year!

And, as usual, a reminder of the keeper rules:
• total of 5 keepers
• 2 of which must be 27, 28 or 29 yrs old
• another 2 players 26 or under
• one final keeper that can be either (basically anyone under the age of 30)
• age is based on that year's opening date (April 5, this year)
• for a player to be keep-eligible he must have been drafted on draft day by your team or traded to you by a team that drafted him. that means:
• free agent/waiver pick-ups cannot be kept
• if you keep less than 5 players - you will have a random filler pick inserted instead of a keeper. once the draft is complete you can drop that player for someone else that will count as your final draft pick (must happen right after the draft, so i can keep track of it)

i've hosed myself in so many trades the past few years
kept rizzo through his rookie season, only to trade him before his first good year
traded cueto before last year
i think i traded away adam jones back during the first season

i've made some questionable "going of it" trades over the years too :/ which i wouldn't regret if my team hadn't shat the bed after the deadline both years. cargo out, sonny gray out, etc etc etc.

also my team name in my 2nd league is "WHIP Priest" which i am pretty proud of. hope to god i didn't see it here years ago & think I came up w/ it myself.

2/3 of the trades in my hunt for 1st blew up in my face, but I'm lucky i was able to hang on. i traded away Marte, Seager and Miller and they *all* caught fire after being dealt. glad i hung onto Lucroy and Fernandez tho, despite a few guys making hard pushes to pry them away - so coulda been worse!

i like the addition of the NA spot. i would have loved to have used it the last two years when i had oscar taveras!
Saves+holds should be interesting.
no big deal for this year, but i still think the batting categories lean a bit too heavily toward power hitters. but i can live with it.

what i would love is for yahoo to allow us to replace runs and rbi's with total runs (rbi + r - HR).

I forgot to start Garrett Richards yesterday, fortunately, the Yankees blew him up to the tune of six runs in two-thirds of an inning.

Hernandez, Pineda and Tazawa left me with an ERA over 10 last night. if that sounds low, considering the night they all had, Price mercifully gave me 9 shutout innings.

Just so you all know that I am, if nothing else, consistent: first place in RBI, SLG, OBP, 2nd in XBH, top 4 in all other batting stats... and bottom half for all pitching cats except sv+hld.

HOW DO U PITCHER?

(also consistent with at least last year, and possibly the year before: my first-half lead followed by inexorable descent into high-mid table)

so, with Sano hitting really well i might not have room for Heyward (26) anymore. And with Lucroy stinking i might be interested in someone a year or two older than Jason (27/28). still not sure about this move, but if anyone is interested in swaying me, hit me up.

having spent the fist half around 10/11th i'm pretty happy with a 4th (or possibly 3rd?!) place finish. i'm in a good spot for next year with Bryant Sano, Fernandez, Felix and other (maybe Quintana since i accidentally dropped Pineda).

Yep I won in '09 too! I thought for sure my team was sunk at one point, but I managed to plug some gaps and keep battling and you know it was a team effort, my hats off to the kids, they really played with a lot of heart and just knew how to win in the end.

btw I'm tentatively finished with fantasy, allowing myself the possibility to change my mind if my schedule gets better. So these guys I was debating on keeping may be out there for next season:

Congrats nomar! There were a lot of strong teams in the first half of the season but you crushed everyone in July and by mid-August there wasn't really any doubt about who would win.

It was a disappointing season for me, I had a good two month run where I was in the top three and even had a two day cup of coffee in first place, but it turned out that my offense was playing way over its head. I like my keeper options for next year though.

I think I've changed my mind on quitting already. I need at least one fantasy league to distract me.

I went into first place one day and I thought I'd be done bc there were several other scary rosters but cargo and ortiz kept hitting. pollock ended up being a great pick, I was going to use him as a reserve and he ended up the fourth best offensive player or something ridiculous like that.
