My fave list here is negative cWPA; booby prizes to Jimmy Rollins and Didi Gregorius.

I like that -- could see letting my vote be guided by it if I had a vote. (And yay Mitch Moreland.)

Although WPA takes into account the sequencing of a player’s actions within games, it doesn’t consider their sequencing within seasons. And if we really care about context, we want to know that too. Just as a walk-off shot is worth more than a tack-on homer, a walk-off shot in a pivotal game against an important opponent should be worth more than one that comes after the campaign’s outcome is already assured.

I think I used to argue exactly the same thing on here: that even if a win in April was equal in the standings to a win in late September, that in context the win in late September was much more meaningful in getting you closer to a division title or wild-card spot, and that therefore September performance should matter, to a degree, in an MVP vote. (Donaldson's good-not-great September nags at me a little.) I guess what I needed was an acronym.
