anybody following fall/winter leagues?

i check the wraps at mvn.com whenever i remember. until today i had no idea that there's a hawaiin winter league and that olympic qualifiers are going on in europe

yeah, i guess this is maybe more directed at folks like me who follow loser teams. winter leagues give hope!

yeah, that's why i follow them too. "ooh look some no-name AA kid struck out 6 in venezuela the other day. wow we're on the right track."

ive gone to a few HWB games. they have minor league players but also some players from the Japanese leagues.

the season is almost over though.

ten months pass...

went to opening nite last nite. they moved half the games to the stadium right by my house this year so hopefully i'll make it to a few more.

beach boys have papelbon's little brother!!!

Per source, Delmon Young, playing for the Navegantes del Magallanes has been awarded the Venezuelan Winter League MVP.

Over 61 games, Young hit .294 with 19 HR, 52 RBI and a .908 OPS.
