Simply put, this was a deal the #Tigers had to do. The best hitter in franchise history, and he's showing no signs of slowing.

Maybe he was worth more than he was paid, 2008-2013.

This was such a bright tweet a couple weeks ago, when Martinez was slumping. Besides, the Astros are so smart now!

Martinez has 19 HR in 99 games, a .911 OPS, a .679 "late and close" SLG, and is paid the league minimum.

Even if he sucks the rest of the season, he has "worked out."
