Sour beer is the way and the light
Lindsaymans of Scotland are, based on their awesome raspberry flavoured lambic, an instant British answer to the question 'why is Belgium the only nation that gets it'

wait, the brewery is called Six Degrees North, Lindsaymans is just the name of their Belgian sour range, which seems to be the only thing they do. Anyway it's great

ordered some sort of special "cask" ale yesterday. the bartender hit the cask with a mallet before pouring it. very lightly, like there was no way it did anything, so it seemed more like an obscure ritual. i asked her why she did it and she said "it's how it's done." the beer was very flat.

okay, the Wild Beer Co's Winter Blend 2015 is so good I just wrote a fairly impassioned email to the company about it. A legitimate UK gueuze, and it loses nothing by comparison to anything Belgian

I've bought that again since then too. As a counterpoint to the fruity ipa love though, Ballast Point's watermelon ipa is a fucking gallon of garbage. Only benefit is that it's 10%, so after two I kinda don't care. Bought this because I really liked their Sculpin, and when I felt like splurging on a $15 six-pack, that's where I'd sometimes go. But this was two dollars more and the watermelon flavor reminds me of a Bacardi Breezer or something.

pineapple and grapefruit sculpin are good. I've only had one ballast point beer that wasn't sculpin, and I didn't like it.
