Aeon Flux Season 3 Episode Order?

Hi Peter,

I know something like episode order is trivial when it comes to Aeon Flux where each episode exists on its own with no narrative ties to other episodes but why is the DVD order different to the broadcast order? It's possible that you've already addressed this in an interview or in a commentary track and I have forgotten.

The intended order was
1. Utopia or Deuteranopia?
2. The Demiurge
3. Thanatophobia
4. Isthmus Crypticus
5. A Last Time for Everything
6. Reraizure
7. Chronophasia
8. Ether Drift Theory
9. The Purge
10. End Sinister

MTV did not like the Demiurge, so they pushed it to air later. They ran Isthmus Crypticus as ep. 2.
Broadcast order switches the placement of those two episodes.

Thank you for sharing the intended order. I just noticed that the DVD order was decided and split according to who directed the episodes. I don't know how I overlooked that.

Disc 1:
1. Utopia or Deuteranopia?
2. Thanatophobia
3. A Last Time for Everything
4. Ether Drift Theory
5. The Purge

Disc 2:
6. The Demiurge
7. Isthmus Crypticus
8. Reraizure
9. Chronophasia
10. End Sinister

I remember you saying that they felt The Demiurge was too esoteric to be shown first. Which was actually what initially made me think to ask you about the order. And the fact that The Demiurge isn't anywhere on Disc 1. But now I've noticed that it's all about who directed the episodes. Maybe on a Blu-ray release they can have the intended order.

Along these lines, what about the audio commentary order? I haven't listened to them since the set was first released so it's time to revisit...

I don't believe in audio commentaries. The ones we did don't offer anything useful so you aren't missing anything by forgetting about them. If you have any questions about anything, I'll do my best to answer them here.

I've started to listen to the audio commentaries again and I actually find some of the information really interesting. I love the anecdotes and thoughts on certain elements.
