this is uploaded too late for a derby morning mix as intended but use it as a preakness mix if you want
copious racing & bourbon-related samples and sound bites

love can't turn around (lifelike remix) - farley jackmaster funk

hah, i assumed all those farley remixes from last year would be awful but this is not bad!

juniper jazz (haitch), Wednesday, 6 May 2009 16:03 (fifteen years ago) link

hows the mix otherwise?

moonship journey to baja, Wednesday, 6 May 2009 16:04 (fifteen years ago) link

am up to 'uptown', it's good! the transition from 'foxxy' to 'you should be dancin' was a bit rough but everything else seems fine to me.

think it's about time i did another one of these

juniper jazz (haitch), Wednesday, 6 May 2009 16:12 (fifteen years ago) link

hmmm, well, you're in for a bit of a trainwreck next: the michael jackson mixes are all fucked up because the tempo on that track swings all over the place. also i thought going into "foxxy" was a lot worse than coming out.

moonship journey to baja, Wednesday, 6 May 2009 16:16 (fifteen years ago) link

argh you almost had it on the way in... then it got away.

'buffalo bill' is amazing. (not $50 amazing though, jesus christ discogs)

juniper jazz (haitch), Wednesday, 6 May 2009 16:24 (fifteen years ago) link

is this that doors re-edit, do you think?

juniper jazz (haitch), Wednesday, 6 May 2009 16:25 (fifteen years ago) link

i liked the mix and ordered that t&t edit, yes i did.

double posted from ILM ...

a highly subjective "best of idjut boys" mix just for the hell of it ... pardon the trainwreck or two and the excessive use of reverb and delay towards the end. my excuse is that it's only fitting for the subject matter.

phantom slasher - endup
idjut boys - gentle approach
phantom slasher - poxymoron
idjut boys & quakerman - dum dum de dum
phantom slasher - lasagna for 10
phantom slasher - i got my love
major swellings - assquake
thick as thieves - tiny bubbles
major swellings - spit and dip
phantom slasher - oochie coochie
idjut boys & quakerman - corrective surgery
idjut boys - sweet gerry dynamite

moonship's idjut boys best of

this mix comes apart in the last quarter, but it sparked a spontaneous dance party in my workplace last night, which qualifies it for posting it here imo.

two weeks pass...

well, i'm really really really depressed due to seasonal unemployment, ill health, impending divorce, etc so i made a mix to cheer myself up.

no beatmatching because it's all 60s/70s psych and jazz and there didn't seem to be any point in trying anything tricky.

it's a good semi-mellow mix for lying around on sunny days on high doses of clonezepam, which is what i've been up to lately
