New Balance is one of the few remaining American shoe manufacturers, although that only applies towards the top of their line. Most of the lower-end models have been sourced internationally.

That is like a quintessential gygax post!

Except it isn't being mean to me.

oh that's gross

ciderpress, Thursday, 17 November 2016 01:03 (seven years ago) link

I imagine so many people sadly scrolling through all the ugliness on the KEEN website and sighing

El Tomboto, Thursday, 17 November 2016 01:15 (seven years ago) link

This is ridiculous. They can't just claim things.

Treeship, Thursday, 17 November 2016 01:34 (seven years ago) link

grateful that and1s are still cool

mookieproof, Thursday, 17 November 2016 01:46 (seven years ago) link

still gonna wear my NB 420s to the gym, we'll see if this is still a thing by winter

it's funny cuz the context in which their VP made that cloth-eared 'things will be better us under Trump' comment was in reference to the TPP, because apparently quite a lot of their manufacturing happens in the states rather than in asian sweatshops; so they're being boycotted for the opposite reason ppl boycott Nike!

flopson, Thursday, 17 November 2016 01:51 (seven years ago) link

so it's all a big misunderstanding? That's nk goodness because I love my new bees

the late great, Thursday, 17 November 2016 01:59 (seven years ago) link

thank goodness

the late great, Thursday, 17 November 2016 01:59 (seven years ago) link

apparently the nazi thing goes way back to british skinheads wearing them in the 90s (they liked the big N, i guess? lol) but the recent flare-up is the result of a VP saying he doesn't the direction of trade policy under Obama, and it would be better under Trump (or Clinton or Sanders) who campaigned against the TPP

flopson, Thursday, 17 November 2016 02:07 (seven years ago) link

yeah i don't see it as a huge deal (agreeing with Trump on a single economic issue) but saw a bunch of people burning their NBs on my local news last night :(

Nhex, Thursday, 17 November 2016 04:28 (seven years ago) link

like Michael Jordan before me, i don't give a shit abt the politics of shoemakers

Supercreditor (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 17 November 2016 04:32 (seven years ago) link

Sanders and Clinton also agreed with him on that single economic issue

flopson, Thursday, 17 November 2016 05:04 (seven years ago) link

No plans to burn mine
