Hah, sorry I don't keep much track of the industry (the all-10-positions was the result of some frantic Googling). I know they don't get a lot of respect, and that the Wii is no longer outselling the PS3 and 360 combined.

The WiiU will probably sell a trillion units.

Sony are the ones currently in trouble financially, 3DS is doing ok, really unconvinced by WiiU myself though.

Lego City Undercover(nee Stories) looks cool, but at this point, I'm wondering if I should just pick up a Gamecube and load up on select cheap games, as the system was good for those.

Wii can run Gamecube games though, right? So it might be a better buy.

Wii can run Gamecube games, Wii U won't I think (but idk probably will have them as downloadable Virtual Console titles?)

Get the Wii just because it's hard and expensive to get video component out cables for the GameCube.

BUT! the later price cut Wii models don't have GC backwards compatibility, so watch out for that. They won't have the controller ports.

This is sort of sad to me, but yeah I only subscribed up until N64 years and then I just pretty much never read a videogame magazine again. It's funny how many comments on various sites are "Who care this is just a 30-page ad from Nintendo WAKE UP SHEEPLE" when really what print magazine isn't basically an advertisement.

all video game mags are atrocious hack jobs but Nintendo Power at least was not also written with a dudebro core gamer male-gazey house style. I think all my back issues from my various subscription eras have been sold or disposed, alas.

Basically spot check for anything that might not be scanned "out there", do a desultory eBay listing of anything in a contiguous chunk, then recycle

theres a (small) market for nes/snes era nintendo powers but even then i think i managed ~$3 an issue when i sold off all the ones i had
