Oh, except Far Cry 3, I guess. Also the L1 lean is great and every FPS should rip it off from now on

hello:
Hi Antexit,
Welcome to the Destiny First Look Alpha, a small sampling of activities you'll find in the final experience. Destiny is an action game that combines the campaign story, cooperative, and competitive modes you expect, with in-depth character creation and a huge variety of weapons, armor, and combat abilities. Create a character. Take it into every mode. Venture out into the world alone, or play with friends in search of action and adventure.
The Destiny First Look Alpha is not final. Players may experience bugs and incomplete features. Thanks for helping us pave the way to Beta, and Destiny's launch on September 9th, 2014.
The Ultimate Destiny™ Experience is only on PlayStation®

Devil Summoners 1 and 2 (PS2) on sale for $4 each on PSN. I'd probably get them but I haven't even touched Persona 3 yet
― Nhex, Wednesday, 16 July 2014 20:57 (nine years ago) link
Devil Summoner 2 is supposed to be awesome. Is this REALLY available on PS3?
― fields of salmon, Wednesday, 16 July 2014 22:46 (nine years ago) link
Yep just downloaded it myself!

oh yeah good call; Injustice Ultimate edition especially is a great deal
― Nhex, Monday, 28 July 2014 03:26 (nine years ago) link
you guilted me into Batman and lego marvel.
― EZ Snappin, Monday, 28 July 2014 03:53 (nine years ago) link
So injustice is maybe the worst written story mode in the history of fighting games which is uh amazing really
― Everyone is awful except you. Wait, no, you are also awful. (jjjusten), Monday, 28 July 2014 03:58 (nine years ago) link
it is the worst. it is also fantastic!
― Nhex, Monday, 28 July 2014 03:59 (nine years ago) link
you know what, i'm gonna flip that around. it's probably the BEST story mode ever done in a fighting game

Bought The Swapper via PSN's preorder sale based on unanimous raves and comparisons to Portal 2. So we'll see how that pans out.

and don't forget they earlier announced an 168 hour free trail of Battlefield 4.
which is rather odd. And I'm not really sure if they mean it'll give you 168 hours of playtime, or that it's free for the next week.

I played the D&D games in the arcade back in the day. Not very good then. Perhaps the port is better, but if so it'd literally be one of the first.

are you kidding, those D&D games ruled, CPS2-4-LYFEand I don't have PS3 Spelunky w/the daily challenges and crap
― Nhex, Thursday, 2 October 2014 01:52 (nine years ago) link
ps+ seems to be going easy on the free games. more indie and download-only games, fewer major titles.
― alanbatman (abanana), Thursday, 2 October 2014 06:08 (nine years ago) link
Sony are in a weird position where the PS4 is still presumably too new for them to be able to give away AAA games but they've already given away a lot of the best PS3 games, so we're in an odd indie-heavy hinterland. I've really enjoyed a lot of the indie games on Plus recently, though - Velocity 2X is great and I was surprised by how much I loved Don't Starve.

for the record: rainbow moon is for PS3 _and_ vita, right?

All I know about it is the hype I've heard, but I'm sure this will excite some of you: Vib Ribbon is being released for PS3 and Vita in the Playstation Store today.

Yak and Rogue Legacy are cooli have to say that at this point, since i now own (am "renting") like 25 interesting games for a vita and the same for PS4, I am sorely tempted to buy more hardware for more games i won't play.
― the plight of y0landa (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 3 February 2015 21:54 (nine years ago) link
Yakuza 4 is like 22gigs, tho, so that download gunna take a while. Thief 4 going from next-gen platform seller to free game less than a year after its delayed release is kinda disappointing, but fits entirely in line with how disappointing all the reactions to that game were. And I say this as someone who _loves_ Thief 1 & 2.
But we have Dishonored now, so that helps.
― Delbert Gravy (kingfish), Thursday, 5 February 2015 08:37 (nine years ago) link
the disappointing reaction to this thief is less disappointing in the sense that, unlike the others, it isn't very good.

Between PS+ free games, crossbuy on PS3 games I've bought, and super cheap games I've bought during sales because why not, I realized I have >100 games I can play on the Vita that I still don't own, so it might be time for me to just pull the trigger already.

Just got a Dualshock 3 for PC gaming after my one-year experiment with the Xbox 360 Afterglow controller finally ground to an end. I had problems with the controller getting unplugged while still being plugged in and I lay the blame on the stupid patch cable it makes use of. Actually this controller stopped worker 6 months ago but I bought a new patch cable and it seemed to fix things. Then last week it died on me again and just would not start.
After just one day of playing and now I just feel stupid for giving Microsoft any of my money in the first place for a game controller. Everything about the DS3 is yards ahead of the Xbox controller, from the less monstrous size to the lighter weight to the nice clicky feel of the buttons to the fact that I can use any standard USB cord. Installing Motioninjoy took me 10 minutes and instantly everything worked with it, from my emulators to new releases like Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Seriously screw M$, eff this patch cable racket, good riddance.

Huh. I've been thinking about switching from a 360 controller to a DS3 for PC games, I've actually always got on fine with the wireless 360 pad and the crossfire adaptor, but I liked the idea of dropping the dongle and going with bluetooth for laptop use. I couldn't get motioninjoy to recognise my dual shock at all though, and didn't try long before giving up. Maybe I'll go back to it and try updating my BT drivers or something.
― JimD, Monday, 9 February 2015 11:58 (nine years ago) link
Oh wait were you using the DS3 wired instead of wireless? I guess it's probably easier that way but it'd be a step backwards from what I'm using already.
― JimD, Monday, 9 February 2015 12:01 (nine years ago) link
Yeah I'm using it wired. Baby steps. I probably should get a BT dongle and try that but not yet. It hasn't been completely chill. DS3Tool doesn't work sometimes but all I have to do is restart and it seems to fix things.
― ©Oz Quiz© (Adam Bruneau), Monday, 9 February 2015 16:31 (nine years ago) link
It can connect via Bluetooth quite easily if your over has that capability
