the fan club is at http://www.samorost2.com

To be honest, I'm shocked that this didn't come up in a search.

You have to pay for this one, by the looks of it.

You have to pay for the second half of it, which makes it about as long as the original. It really is so good I'd have paid for it twice. In fact will do again when it comes out on CD.

In interviews with the author, he cites his obvious love of the great Lucas Arts adventures as well as the somewhat less well known Gobliiins games. I played them on the Atari ST and they are much more directly responsible for the play mechanic he uses in Somorost. Check them out on the Underdogs site.

There was a response to this thread where they thought this was spam, but of course it's not. It's simply a notice saying that the sequel to the best point and click flash game is out, on a forum that it hadn't been mentioned before.

Yeah, I played this a few weeks ago and it reminded me of Gobliins. It also reminded how good those games were. I may need to check them out from Underdogs if they're available from there...

looking forward to http://www.machinarium.com so much. absolutely love these games, can't believe there hasn't been more discussion about them on here - everyone should try the first two!

can anyone recommend similar (modern) games? i tried out gobliiins again recently and they were ok, but have dated quite badly

In games like this I invariably get stuck incredibly early on.

they remind me a bit of those flash 'you are locked in a room with a chair, now escape' games, but infinitely more fun

ok, the first one took like ten minutes, so let's try the next soon.

So you can get this as part of a 'humble bundle', along with machinarium and Samorost 2 (plus a couple of extras, as always, if you exceed the average price): http://www.humblebundle.com/
