Teams will do all this nonsense and then a few weeks later good players will sign for 3 million

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:21 (seven years ago) link

really skeptical that the mavs or grizz can buy their way back into contention at this point

ciderpress, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:23 (seven years ago) link

Sacramento making a run at waiters. I'm excited

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:23 (seven years ago) link

haha

moistest hoist (Spottie), Friday, 1 July 2016 04:23 (seven years ago) link

the lakers, who were iirc going to sign every marquee free agent this summer, are turning all their attention on... mozgov

Clay, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:25 (seven years ago) link

i got golden state in the espn quiz. excited for me and my family.

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:27 (seven years ago) link

i like beal but that contract has some real eric gordon potential

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:28 (seven years ago) link

the lakers racing to ink mozgov to a longterm deal is incredible

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:29 (seven years ago) link

If they pay mozgov a reasonable amount that might be a better situation in the end

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:30 (seven years ago) link

Whiteside wouldn't meet with them, Horford is old

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:30 (seven years ago) link

Boban would have been more intriguing tho

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:30 (seven years ago) link

why do they need anyone idgi

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:32 (seven years ago) link

a good GM like trades for mason plumlee and gets ed davis on a 3/20 deal. the lakers rush to sign timofey mozgov for 4 years 1 minute into free agency.

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:34 (seven years ago) link

Lakers in serious talks on the framework of a four-year, $65M deal with Timofey Mozgov, league sources tell @TheVertical.

Clay, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:35 (seven years ago) link

i know it's a different world now but that's m/l the same as boogie's contract

Clay, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:37 (seven years ago) link

blazers offering parsons a 4 year deal

ciderpress, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:37 (seven years ago) link

did mozgov even play at all in the playoffs?

moistest hoist (Spottie), Friday, 1 July 2016 04:37 (seven years ago) link

no

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:38 (seven years ago) link

i would gamble on parsons

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:38 (seven years ago) link

parsons to blaze is interesting

moistest hoist (Spottie), Friday, 1 July 2016 04:38 (seven years ago) link

i liked dwight for portland

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:40 (seven years ago) link

A sixth of your cap on mozgov seems bad

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:40 (seven years ago) link

they can still get him too right? xp

moistest hoist (Spottie), Friday, 1 July 2016 04:40 (seven years ago) link

maybe it's a "well we gotta spend this money somehow!" situation & maybe they're looking at the fact that he was just recently traded for two first round picks but.... i'm not inclined to generously interpret anything the lakers do in free agency

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:43 (seven years ago) link

i like dwight for miami!! i'm a dwight believer

he is like 30 and has a bad back and hasn't played really great basketball except in spurts in years idgi xp

well he's worth as least as much as mozgov

moistest hoist (Spottie), Friday, 1 July 2016 04:52 (seven years ago) link

lol xp

moistest hoist (Spottie), Friday, 1 July 2016 04:52 (seven years ago) link

yeah if you sign dwight you basically have to admit that he's gonna miss like 1/3 of the regular season games but just 2 playoffs ago he like singlehandedly beat the blazers w/ LMA and he can still bring it when he wants to

i think houston went really sour cuz the culture is shit & harden is a bad teammate. also i think that up & down style was tough on dwight's body. if i was a team like the blazers or the hornets that could get him out of the spotlight and put him in a system that is more amenable to his strengths i would try & sign him provided he doesn't want $130 million or whatever.

basically i just wouldn't hold last year against him

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:52 (seven years ago) link

like if the heat could convince him to take 4/80 or something i would do it. i think he's still good.

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:53 (seven years ago) link

i'm a dwight believer too idk if i want him on the celtics though

ciderpress, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:54 (seven years ago) link

if moz is getting 4/65 and joakim is getting 4/72 then even 4/100 on dwight wouldn't be insane imo

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:55 (seven years ago) link

dwight on the celtcs seems like a bad idea even tho he'd be a great fit w/ their roster

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:55 (seven years ago) link

that's a pretty fair assessment jord, but i just assume he is going to want the full max and prob won't ever consider going to a PNW city like portland, he is too image-conscious to fully be a backseat guy

Clay, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:56 (seven years ago) link

yeah i don't trust dwight to do what's best for himself lol

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:57 (seven years ago) link

i wouldnt sign dwight to more than 3 years

moistest hoist (Spottie), Friday, 1 July 2016 04:57 (seven years ago) link

unless he's willing to take less than max

moistest hoist (Spottie), Friday, 1 July 2016 04:58 (seven years ago) link

did cuban offer dwight the max yet isn't that destiny

Clay, Friday, 1 July 2016 04:59 (seven years ago) link

they seem to be putting all their eggs in the whiteside basket

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 04:59 (seven years ago) link

might as well max out d will too

moistest hoist (Spottie), Friday, 1 July 2016 04:59 (seven years ago) link

chandler parsons to memphis would be......... really weird

J0rdan S., Friday, 1 July 2016 05:00 (seven years ago) link

i am pretty okay w/ this parsons thing but ugh that a guy on that level gets the max and i'm doing all i can not to picture pdx's perimeter D with lillard, mccollum, and parsons as starters yeesh

Clay, Friday, 1 July 2016 05:01 (seven years ago) link

parsons is an ok defender iirc
