mostly I am baffled by all this and yet ecstatic that kd absolutely destroyed the fourth of july for a generation of thunder fans

Clay, Monday, 4 July 2016 21:25 (seven years ago) link

all the bandwagon okc fans are like "i have ALWAYS been a huge fan of the warriors as well as the (team westbrook goes to)"

marcos, Monday, 4 July 2016 23:24 (seven years ago) link

Feel like they were sufficiently humbled a couple weeks back

moistest hoist (Spottie), Monday, 4 July 2016 23:43 (seven years ago) link

about half of the reason i'm happy this happened is because i know it'll offend so many delicate first-take-informed sensibilities of casual fans

stephen A has already called it the "weakest move my a superstar ever"

k3vin k., Tuesday, 5 July 2016 00:13 (seven years ago) link

so many macho opinions from macho men!

k3vin k., Tuesday, 5 July 2016 00:13 (seven years ago) link

GSW getting zaza for 3m is criminal

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 00:14 (seven years ago) link

They maybe got slightly better at C

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 00:15 (seven years ago) link

Warriors could beat this year's Olympic team (tho Klay would have a pretty busy day guarding himself)

Neanderthal, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 00:16 (seven years ago) link

zaza is 32 and will probably regress

k3vin k., Tuesday, 5 July 2016 00:20 (seven years ago) link

He's also v bad at defense and Rim protection which is really all they need from a center

moistest hoist (Spottie), Tuesday, 5 July 2016 00:22 (seven years ago) link

Otoh both of his arms work

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 00:25 (seven years ago) link

He'll be fine and that's a great price obv

moistest hoist (Spottie), Tuesday, 5 July 2016 00:26 (seven years ago) link

Bogut will be 32 in two months and had a significant injury yet again

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 00:27 (seven years ago) link

Andrew Bogut more like Andrew Bigot amirite.

Nicholas Nickelback (Leee), Tuesday, 5 July 2016 00:29 (seven years ago) link

I thought we were in a new era where big men didn't matter what happened to that

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 00:29 (seven years ago) link

someone tried to beat smallball by getting every rebound and it worked iirc

ciderpress, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 01:32 (seven years ago) link

there is a flight tracker of a plane from miami to cleveland that's bouncing around my twitter

just sayin

if young slothrop don't trust ya i'm gon' rhyme ya (slothroprhymes), Tuesday, 5 July 2016 01:37 (seven years ago) link

I doubt Wade gives them much more than they got from JRpert in the playoffs but I guess he could have a renaissance

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 01:59 (seven years ago) link

he averaged 21, 5.5, 4.3 on 47% from the floor in the playoffs last year, nothing to shake your head at

Clay, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 02:02 (seven years ago) link

What the fuck

Free agent guard Seth Curry is finalizing a two-year, $6M deal with the Dallas Mavericks, league sources tell @TheVertical.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 02:04 (seven years ago) link

he also made like half of his career 3s in those last couple games vs hornets

ciderpress, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 02:05 (seven years ago) link

Harrison Barnes getting the max and Curry getting 3m is not a rational marketplace

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 02:07 (seven years ago) link

is this the start of some movie where the 2 brothers switch places and no one notices

ciderpress, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 02:08 (seven years ago) link

I read that as Stephen Curry the first time and was really confused

Neanderthal, Tuesday, 5 July 2016 02:10 (seven years ago) link

lol that mavs squad will still win like 48 games most likely

well big men matter during the regular season because playing small exclusively would be too physically taxing. but the cavs won game 7 w/o playing a traditional center which makes 2 straight champions that severely deemphasized the position.

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 5 July 2016 02:27 (seven years ago) link

you need big men to bang during the regular season & during the playoffs ideally you have big men to be flexible depending on the matchup or series but the best teams are playing small. okc's run in the playoffs could maybe be a counterpoint to that but even they were at their absolute best w/ kd at the 4.

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 5 July 2016 02:29 (seven years ago) link

& even teams w/ dominant centers (pistons, 2016 heat, 2015 rockets) wanna play "small" w/ a combo of guards & wings or in the case of the rockets want to play 4 out w/ a traditional stretch 4

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 5 July 2016 02:31 (seven years ago) link

what could have been
