NBA pro tournament

I like basketball, but the pro hoops setup really kinda makes so many regular season games kinda pointless and by the time the playoffs start in May and June, who cares, I don't want to stay inside and watch TV. It seems to me that a way to keep interest up would be to shorten the season up but then in lieu of an Allstar game have a mid-week two week 32 team single elimination playoff, kind of a like "Cup" series in football/soccer. Seed it out and let higher seeded teams get a home game first three rounds and then have a final four in a neutral site.

Exotic ideas to perhaps include:
-Let a couple Euro championship teams play in the tournament, develop a Euro league.
-Give interest to bad clubs to play well as they get an extra ball for each round they win in the draft lottery.
-Shorten regular season, but have this to even out and perhaps grow revenue an interest.

I think it could be good TV, big time gambling, you got people filling out brackets, you got March Madness with Pros and something to get people talking about the second half of the season and the NBA championship.

I think the "extra ball" in draft lottery is good, because it might even out a quarter of the league trying to tank all at once. That's the biggest stink in the NBA.
