sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Friday, 14 February 2014 15:58 (ten years ago) link

dolphins are a nat'l embarrassment.

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 February 2014 16:20 (ten years ago) link

pretty cool that Incognito took it upon himself to toughen up that assistant trainer by calling him a fucking chink, pretty selfless guy imo.

The Wisdom of Gafflers (JoeStork), Friday, 14 February 2014 21:27 (ten years ago) link

he's a peach.

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 February 2014 22:46 (ten years ago) link

i think it's being positioned where only a select group of perpetrators will be punished, and the team will escape a saints-type punishment because of how they (as an organization, at least) cooperated with the paul, weiss firm. but make no mistake: the parts of the report i've seen are damning against the entire organization, not just a few "bad apples."

Daniel, Esq 2, Friday, 14 February 2014 22:48 (ten years ago) link

Has Incognito's twitter account finally been suspended?

One bad call from barely losing to (Alex in SF), Saturday, 15 February 2014 02:36 (ten years ago) link

or taken down by him. the actual super-bowl game was a laughable dud. they should award football's highest honor to who has the most compelling train-wreck of an offseason. the fins would be on their way to as many championships as the heat.

Daniel, Esq 2, Saturday, 15 February 2014 02:40 (ten years ago) link

$44 million to Goodell. Gotta be the highest paid operator of a "charity" going. Has he done anything about the dolphins yet?

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:05 (ten years ago) link

Ban incognito for life, suspend philbin, pouncey, Jerry and the o-line coach for a year. Also take away the first round pick in '15 which could quite possibly be number one. And facilitate a soft landing for Martin in sf with his college coach.

Done.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:11 (ten years ago) link

Martins gotta be better than any o-lineman currently playing for the falcons, tbh.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:13 (ten years ago) link

the nfl hasn't done anything yet. for anyone curious, the paul weiss report on the dolphins bullying scandal is riveting. most focus on the executive summary and the early parts of the report, but there is eye-opening stuff from roughly pages 90 -- 140.

the text messages between martin and his mother are heartbreaking.

Daniel, Esq 2, Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:14 (ten years ago) link

some think martin will wind up playing for his old coach, now with the 49ers. in the wells-report, he says martin is tough-enough to play in the nfl, and should be able to resume his career.

Daniel, Esq 2, Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:15 (ten years ago) link

figured bill for a martin's-a-pussy guy tbh

mookieproof, Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:15 (ten years ago) link

i'm predisposed to feel this way, but martin comes off very sympathetically in the paul weiss report.

Daniel, Esq 2, Sunday, 16 February 2014 05:16 (ten years ago) link

I figure SF or Indy is where Martin will end up.

lol @ how this dude fails upward

Lombardi actually did a good job with the Browns I think. Remember he was only there what, 9 months? And he pulled off that Trent Richardson robbery.

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 16 February 2014 09:27 (ten years ago) link

yeah apparently the owner fired them cuz he's pissed they didn't hire schiano. new coach maybe shouldn't buy a house.

balls, Sunday, 16 February 2014 15:35 (ten years ago) link

Tony Gonzalez in, Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe out at CBS

mookieproof, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 17:47 (ten years ago) link

Cowher and Esiason could stand to go too, imo. Hell, get rid of James Brown while you're at it. They're the lamest NFL panel on gameday, and I'm including Fox.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 17:55 (ten years ago) link

i'm taking this weird delight in marino getting fired

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 18:25 (ten years ago) link

haha. why?

Daniel, Esq 2, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 18:34 (ten years ago) link

Because he's a goofball?

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 18:40 (ten years ago) link

he's soon to be a goofball executive for the dolphins, which will surely solve the organization's credibility problems!

Daniel, Esq 2, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 18:45 (ten years ago) link

idk, i just don't like the guy. that video where he gets all pissy on the set of the football show was hilarious to me.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 18:59 (ten years ago) link

wasn't he already a goofball dolphins exec for like five minutes?

mookieproof, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 19:10 (ten years ago) link

almost nine minutes, thank you very much.

Daniel, Esq 2, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 19:20 (ten years ago) link

Laces out, Marino!!!

polyphonic, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 20:33 (ten years ago) link

hey, lol, the local sun-sports cable channel is currently showing a favorable dolphins special on mike pouncey.

timely!

Daniel, Esq 2, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 00:33 (ten years ago) link

I'd be curious to hear if there is anything remotely redeeming about Mike Pouncey.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 16:53 (ten years ago) link

his name makes me think of energetic kittens?

sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 17:02 (ten years ago) link

i'll allow it

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 17:23 (ten years ago) link

mmmmmaybe they were just drunk?

PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 20 February 2014 00:31 (ten years ago) link

so the dolphins flew to indianapolis as part of a team or nfl function. they took the coaching staff with them, including kevin o'neill, who's been on the staff for 18 years and was apparently hostile with wells during the investigation (o'neill abruptly cut-off the interview, for one thing). then, this happened:

Chris Kouffman ‏@ckparrot -- So the Dolphins flew Kevin O'Neill to Indy and had him give a talk to fellow trainers, interrupted the talk to summon him for his dismissal.

_________________________________

Chris Kouffman ‏@ckparrot -- This is after O'Neill had been with the franchise for 18 years, mind you. This organization has zero class. None.

stay classy, miami dolphins.

Daniel, Esq 2, Thursday, 20 February 2014 03:05 (ten years ago) link

not cooperating with wells was also not classy tbf

call all destroyer, Thursday, 20 February 2014 03:06 (ten years ago) link

top-to-bottom, dolphins are just the best.

Daniel, Esq 2, Thursday, 20 February 2014 04:23 (ten years ago) link

stay classy, miami dolphins.

The guy deserved the humiliation. They canned the O-line coach, i hope it was just as embarrassing for him.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Thursday, 20 February 2014 17:05 (ten years ago) link

So the cops are saying there's actual video of Ray Rice punching his fiancee. I don't need to see it. The fact that he's on video punching his fiancee is all I need to say FUCK THAT DUDE FOREVER.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 21 February 2014 06:42 (ten years ago) link

yup

Spottie, Friday, 21 February 2014 06:52 (ten years ago) link

jesus fuck. suspend the hell out of him. the first video was bad enough and yea, I do not need to see this one.

but I just read that his fiancée's lawyer is "certain neither party committed a crime" - is she not wanting to press charges any more?

Neanderthal, Friday, 21 February 2014 07:10 (ten years ago) link

Absolutely shocked at the lack of media attention this story is getting.

Mr. Snrub, Friday, 21 February 2014 12:12 (ten years ago) link

Ah fuck

PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Friday, 21 February 2014 15:13 (ten years ago) link

...that guy

Spottie, Friday, 21 February 2014 15:21 (ten years ago) link

Ray Rice will be welcomed back to the Ravens with open arms, yet the presence of Michael Sam will be a "distraction".

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Friday, 21 February 2014 15:44 (ten years ago) link

very video game-y

PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Friday, 21 February 2014 16:45 (ten years ago) link

Yeah, because what was wrong with that emblem was that it was too small.

Feelin' that chrome hardware on the front, though.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 21 February 2014 16:46 (ten years ago) link

has the Bucs logo always had a football in it and I just never noticed because it wasn't ENORMOUS

sent as gassed to onto rt dominance (DJP), Friday, 21 February 2014 16:47 (ten years ago) link

I was doing quite a bit of driving and caught quite a few Monday night football broadcasts on the radio and I thought Esiason was more laid back on the radio working games. I liked him better. I think it's kind of hard not to come off like a douche on those Football opening shows. Most of that stuff is just blather and not a whole lot about x-o's.

I wish I could care but pre-season football is just brutally boring. It all goes on way, way too long.

earlnash, Tuesday, 5 August 2014 04:22 (nine years ago) link

he actually is pretty good on radio color, i'll give you that

polyphonic, Tuesday, 5 August 2014 04:23 (nine years ago) link

i'm unjustifiably excited for preseason football this friday

Mordy, Tuesday, 5 August 2014 04:26 (nine years ago) link

i know the phillies are bad, but jeez

mookieproof, Tuesday, 5 August 2014 04:30 (nine years ago) link

nfl network + garguantivo = i am setting a season pass to tape every preseason game. Figure i'll watch the first quarter of each and discard and be better (worse?) prepared for the fantasy draft
