But mostly I'm posting this nu shooz video here so that I can tell myself that

YOU FORGOT TO PUT A SEARCH TERM IN THE QUOTES.

I've wanted to start:

Taking Sides: Nu Shooz's "I Can't Wait" vs Stevie Nicks' "I Can't Wait," both on the chart at the same time.

A deeper shade of lol (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Saturday, 27 April 2013 19:19 (eleven years ago) link

How we went from the defiant "I Can't Wait"s of the 80s to the well "I Don't Want To Wait" I guess of the 90s.

two years pass...

This is ripe for a refresh. Seems like a shoo-in (see what I did there?) for 2015's pop not pop charts.

"I Can't Wait", that is.

I've been enjoying that song a lot lately.

I Can't Wait was an especially big deal on the radio in the Pacific Northwest. I remember hearing it all the time for much longer than it was a hit nationally. It has held up well over the years.

a silly gif of awkward larping (Sparkle Motion), Wednesday, 27 May 2015 19:52 (eight years ago) link

So both "I Can't Wait" and "Point of no Return" either shared the chart or appeared on the charts within the year of 2 other tunes with the same name, all great. Stevie Nix and Expose, respectively. Pretty cool. Kinda like the big "Jump" situation in, uh, '84?

andrew m., Wednesday, 27 May 2015 21:59 (eight years ago) link

Or the big "Creep" explosion of 1993-94.

And 'Alright' in the UK in the mid-90s.
