John Vanderslice C/D?

First reaction: better than Cellar Door; worse than LADOAA4-T; the production is impeccable; Billy Corgan might be interested in following in Bill Gates's footsteps (tee-hee) after hearing "Radiant With Terror" (I mean, ho-lee shit does that thing sound like "Disarm." Pitchfork was charitable calling it a "kissing cousin." A genitally conjoined twin is more like it).

Revive. Emerald City is, eh, out there somewhere.

Only heard the first track at the moment since I can't stop repeating it for now

So much is going on in the first track with the fluttery reverb, piano, harmonies, and some sort of rapid, staccato, chimey business in the background. He blends it all in and out to great effect, though. Dude always seems to have such a great hold on his music/studio.

finally got around to hearing Emerald City today. it's typical Vanderslice, which isn't a bad thing in my mind. he's very prolific as i never got around to hearing the last album. before i know it he has a new one out...just checked Amazon, he has released six albums (debut in 2000) in seven years.

I think it's great. His best, easily.

I've been wanting to hear it, but haven't gotten to it yet. I still really love Pixel Revolt.

Original goal funded in two days

I've been listening to a side project from the TrueAnon podcast where their producer Yung Chomsky has created an audio documentary of the history of the Tiny Telephone studio via interviews with John Vanderslice and a number of the collaborators/musicians who recorded there.
