ice cr?m shoppes

harbl, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 01:04 (fourteen years ago) link

My friend sent me an email about Urban Outfitters selling fixies now. I don't ride a fixie, but I do ride a trendy single-speed bike, and when she sent the email, I thought, Well, the next time I break my frame or my rim is ovalized maybe prices will have come down.

Sometimes I'm just jealous of hipsters. I want their girlfriends and their clothes and shit.

i want their lissom frames but not their girlfriends or their shit

indie spare (electricsound), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 01:07 (fourteen years ago) link

My old boss's sweet 18 year old daughter has been making boutique type cupcakes for a couple of years now and I would feel bad saying she's dumb to be doing so.

I want electricsound's record collection.

on a local level:

53) bridge failures/closures

i kinda think the bridge failure/closure thing is exciting.

Talking about an imminent bridge closure put my friend in a bad mood for a whole day.

bamcquern, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 01:09 (fourteen years ago) link

wait, you're sick of atheism in general? or just the recent in-you-face atheism of dawkins, hitchens, etc. ?

lou reed scott walker monks niagra (chinavision!), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 01:10 (fourteen years ago) link

Well, because we were talking about this parkway that would be needlessly extended and all the houses that would be torn down for it. And that relating to the bridge closure.

55) talking about urban planning with people

bamcquern, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 01:10 (fourteen years ago) link

it made me wonder if it was closed for a significant period of time whether the hipsters of SF and those of the East Bay would become distinct from one another.

provates: feminine plural of provato (sarahel), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 01:10 (fourteen years ago) link

Well kind of exciting, but kind of a logistical nightmare, although I didn't have it as bad as some, since I take BART counter-commute. Not a bridge-failure, but the recent truck crash was just pretty lousy.
