55) talking about urban planning with people

being part of that field, it's something i often end up talking about w/ people whether i feel like it or not. i don't mind so much except when they're all "WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO FIX TRAFFIC" -- i want to say "when you stop driving so much."

idk what number we're at but here's a serious entry:

people complaining about socialism without a concept of what socialism actually entails

it's just... it works both ways. "fixing traffic" often means cultivating multimodal transportation (cars/buses/trains/complete streets), but multimodal transportation also needs support from the people if it's going to get any funding/political traction. if you use the roadways, you contribute to traffic. so think about your own part in all of it.

same here! i don't really want to drive, but i'm finally giving in and getting my license because i'm tired of people treating me like i'm the town drunk because i ride the bus.

22) really big plastic eyeglasses like the state used to issue the kids with Downs syndrome

Can I just raise this to the whole "apparently trying to look retarded" fashion among hipster kids today? Because the Downs glasses are often coupled with a really awful Goodwill chic outfit, in my experience. Essentially, trying to look like a second grade class photo ca. 1984. Let's just stop it.

I don't hate Twitter...I just hate the tweeting twats who talk about it.

OTM. I don't know if this is just my experience or what but it seems like the only ppl that say this are in TV news commentary or tacky commercials. Mainstream douche bags trying to seem 'with it'. It has always felt like this is a manufactured from-the-top down trend. Or do ppl really check what random ppl think about pop culture events on twitter?

I remember in middle school in the early 90s when kids were doing the grunge thing it was also mixed with grandma/grandpa aesthetic, which I always thought was awesome. I don't think that's gonna come back tho.
