xxxxxpost Yeah, I just send them to a friend, usually. I usually take pictures of the sky and traffic and traffic lights and roadside signs. All in one picture, I mean.

bamcquern, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:04 (fourteen years ago) link

you have to email the pictures from your phone

It's okay, Granny.

yes, cds were 25 bucks when they came out in 1985. was not "always this way"

Fox Force Five Punchline (sexyDancer), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:05 (fourteen years ago) link

Yeah, you mms them from your phone to another phone, or to email.

bamcquern, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:05 (fourteen years ago) link

xpost But that doesn't suggest a 2009 trend. Saying that records have gone up in price in the last few years because of higher demand or whatever would be a trend.

bamcquern, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:06 (fourteen years ago) link

Coffee is crazy popular now. And it's fucking nasty shit and everyone is all jacked up for the morning and then crashes at noon and turn into crabby mofos. Cafes/coffee culture is totally egregious and a blight on my generation. I'm only being slightly hyperbolic. The fact that someone is "omg wtf???????????????????? how can you hate coffee" proves my point.

i can see how you, as an individual, can hate coffee

harbl, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:08 (fourteen years ago) link

I sort of agree with Granny in that people really do sort of have a problem with using coffee too much as mood moderator.

bamcquern, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:08 (fourteen years ago) link

no they don't, people have a problem with drinking coffee so they have an excuse to be dicks

a Barbie-like nub where he provates should be (HI DERE), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:09 (fourteen years ago) link

i look at those people like i look at people who drink shitty beer just to get wasted.

jØrdån (omar little), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:09 (fourteen years ago) link

xp: and that is not coffee's fault, that people are dicks

coffee is the best, but i am not sure what "coffee culture" is...therefore it must be suspicious and wrong!

i like coffee because it is one of the very consistent joys in my life. IS THAT SO WRONG?

Maria, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:09 (fourteen years ago) link

if someone's a dick, don't blame coffee, blame the penis

jazzgasms (Mr. Que), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:09 (fourteen years ago) link

xxxxxxpost But it's not 2009. And cafe culture in the US isn't new, either. At least one could argue that it's a nice change from meeting and talking with people in bars.

a Barbie-like nub where he provates should be (HI DERE), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:10 (fourteen years ago) link

I didn't mean that people act like dicks because of coffee. I meant that I have friends who get really tired from not drinking it, and then get really buzzed accidentally sometimes and stay up all night. They're not dicks, they're just tired or wired.

i like that places are taking coffee seriously rather than just serving up swill, which is also why i appreciate places that serve up interesting beer and know their shit rather than just the usual half dozen boring brews.

i think i'm becoming a coffee snob.

jØrdån (omar little), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:11 (fourteen years ago) link

your friends being dicks has nothing to do with coffee, get new coffee, get new friends

jazzgasms (Mr. Que), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:12 (fourteen years ago) link

Yeah, coffee shops aren't . . . I don't know. They serve coffee! They could practically be McDonald's sometimes, but with more laptops and fewer ballpits.

you sound like someone in 1994 who thinks friends is trying to be trendy by having the characters hang out in a cafe, not a bar.

how do you get tired from not drinking coffee; that does not strike me as a particularly exhausting act

a Barbie-like nub where he provates should be (HI DERE), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 20:13 (fourteen years ago) link

the smell of coffee makes me want to gag. the person who sits behind me at work took up the habit a few weeks ago and that's all I smell from 9-11am. my attempts to get her to quit have so far been unsuccessful; her pusher is winning out. (mind you she's said she wants to quit, it's not like I just go up to her out of the blue and tell her STOP THE MADNESS or something).

Tired from not drinking coffee - I don't drink it, but I always thought, and people anecdotally confirm this to me, that you can possibly develop a chemical habit and can feel run down without it.
