So - who are all those voices on 'Just Like Everybody' - arms dealers, torturers, CIA? Anyone know the story.

Yeah, I've always wondered what that's from. My guess is a movie.

Albums are being rereleased with loads of goody extras.
There isn't enough about this band on ILX. I'd like to know the answer to Ned's question above.

What sort of goody extras?
― Alex in SF, Thursday, 6 November 2008 00:39 (fifteen years ago) link
the singles, mostly. there's a compilation that rounds up the stuff that gets missed, too.

I thought Just Like Everybody already collected the singles?

Any tracklistings for these?

oh, that's the comp. "most of the tracks and mixes on this double CD set are exclusive, and are not repeated on the other 23 Skidoo CDs in LTM's reissue program", apparently.

What fuck "JLE Mix" of "Coup"?
― The answer is NOT Volkswagen (Marcello Carlin), Thursday, 6 November 2008 08:52 (fifteen years ago) link
it's a slightly different monitor mix of "coup" with the intro from the urban gamelan version (aka g.i. fuck you)
― stirmonster, Thursday, 6 November 2008 10:49 (fifteen years ago) link
Fair enough - I was afeared that it was going to be some rubbish Big Beat remix.

-------------------------------------
On Saturday 24th of march 2012 the Electrowerkz hosts the official launch party for Strut records Trevor Jackson compiled METAL DANCE compilation.
‘Metal Dance’ mines deep and hones in on the more underground and danceable side of industrial, post-punk and EBM (Electronic Body Music), a phrase coined by Ralf Hütter of Kraftwerk but honed by later bands like DAF and Front 242 as socialist realist aesthetics were dragged onto the dancefloor during the mid-‘80s. Jackson cherry-picks classics and rarities from this era. Featuring seminal artists of the time Cabaret Voltaire, Nitzer Ebb, Yello, Alien Sex Fiend & Pete Shelly. He'll be spinning floor filling treasures from his expansive record collection, focusing his selection on tracks related to the compilation, both classic and contemporary.
Appearing live for the first time in well over a decade will be the legendary 23 SKIDOO, specially reforming for the launch (their seminal track 'coup' appears on the compilation). The band released a series of genre-defining records fusing post-punk, dub, industrial, world and hip-hop styles during 1979-1987, their appearance on the 24th will be as much a celebration of their highly influential recordings as it will be an education to those in attendance who were never fortunate enough to experience their visceral audio visual assaults first time around
