For fuck's sake. The old logo was the only thing that set Payless apart from the other cheap shoe stores.

I also like the "spoon" in the new FedEx.

!963 + a better font (maybe Copperplate Gothic) would have been ideal.

that one looks cool but also looks old. white outline around the blue makes it illegible. the '66 on looks like a simpler, more modern iteration of what preceded it, timeless imo. they basically kept it (just shoehorned some other stuff in) until 93.

Couldn't get past those clever front desk clerks though:

Flipside of this thread: corporations keeping absolutely terrible logos around forever and ever. If the Container Store logo was good, it'd be dope that they've stuck by it, but somehow they have chosen to stay loyal to the most incredibly bland thing possible, all their branding makes them look like a drug store that got a peppy refresh in 1990, and presumably sells tupperware and the like, even as the actual contents of their stores seem to be going for a slightly stylish "mini-IKEA" of semi-designy shelving, desks, and miscellaneous housewares.

Whenever I see one of these trucks on the road, I assume some executive in 1961 was like "we're a trucking company, I don't give a fuck about branding, just draw something up and get back to doing real work. I think the WB one isn't too bad as far as these things go. It's just a bit of a throwback. Usually logos without shading and gradients and beveling and and that kind of crap are better imo.

the GM one reminds me of this fancy top shelf ice cream brand that uses chemical symbols for their flavors ... Like Pb for Peanut Butter Stracciatela

The Kia one looks like a stretched version of the Nxivm sex cult brand -- the one the women got

any company that goes from upper case to lower case letters in its logo is a washed up company that refuses to age with dignity. it has the same impact of a 60 year old wearing clothes featuring the supreme logo.

i agree about the kia nxivm-inspired logo. that is a company trying to build new associations in the mind of the consumer. exploiting neurolplasticity. growth hacking.
