"Poney no 1 (slomo dogs and lasers remix)" is ok i guess, this "la rock 01" song is way weirder and more appealing to me, i feel like it could have crawled out of some weird pocket of the early 90s TC industrial rave scene, that wheedly high pitched wiggle thing is awesome. "My friend Dario" is fucking unmitigated electroclash garbage tho, gross.

ellen allien & apparat - listening to "Way Out" and uh. a little bored. not really down with floaty mushy vocals over the top of my techno i guess? def way more interested in vitalic based on what ive heard so far.

ok in the home stretch of "way out" and now ive moved on to hating the singer (not as much as that vitalic thing, but still. a lot.)

ok way more into "Leave Me Alone", some really odd interesting things going on here, it sounds all lurching and broken, dude singing also works much better for me, like a creaky new order vocal thing going on. i really like this a lot actually.

Phoenix seems like a band designed to be used in commercials (ie, their songs are fine for like 15 seconds, but around second 16 you're like "wait this is horrifically annoying, fuck off")

re: YYYs, what have you heard? All I've really heard are "Maps", "Y Control" and It's Blitz!; I think the video for "Y Control" is way better than the actual song, "Maps" is just gorgeous in how the music is arranged and the way she sings it, and IB! pretty much front-to-back is fantastic, especially if you listen to it as a series of EPs rather than an entire album (meaning I usually take "Zero", "Heads Will Roll", "Soft Shock" and "Skeletons" as a unit, then "Dull Life", "Blame and Fortune" and "Runaway" as a unit, and "Dragon Queen", "Hysteric" and "Little Shadow" as a unit).

For me, the album hits its stride around "Dull Life"; however, you are never going to like them because yet again it's a band fronted by a woman with a yelpy laserish voice and by now it is pretty well documented that you hate that type of thing.

also they are the band where the guitar player released a book of photos of their tour and them being AWESOME and doing ROCK AND ROLLING things and pimped it like some art triumph when in fact it was kind of like jerking off into a baggie and trying to get your friends to frame it and hang it on their wall.
