lil b (the based god)

I wasn't really aware of what Lil B was doing until a week ago (via this thread and the contemporaneous recommendations of some buddies) although I had heard his name. Wow. I think he's an absolute marvel. I am not a scholar of hip hop by any means but I've good one-year or so manic runs where i get really into it at various points over the last decade, but its been a while. This is absolutely tremendous stuff by and large. I am most looking forward to the Rain In England 2xLP. It's so weird/great that that is coming out on Weird Forest. Of course it's just my luck that he was in NYC mere days before I started really digging his stuff. /jealous of those who made it. Based life.

yeah, i didn't really hear much about his performance there, although there were a couple of weird moments w/ random indie band dudes i know saying online that they were looking forward to it or studying up on his music beforehand. noz was there but his long post about the NYC show only mentioned it kind of briefly.

ha i hadn't looked at this thread in a minute, was just listening to Double Dagger's last record before i clicked on it. don't like them a whole lot, though. anyway Whiney was contrasting the Baltimore show where there weren't a lot of big B fans with the NYC shows where there were apparently a lot. anyway his profile had been steadily rising well before all these shows.
