So, I'll have this up this evening. I'm running a little behind today, due to a broken hot water heater. AWESOME!

(Feel free to quibble with this.)

would the "spirits" bracket include liqueurs?

people are for loving (HI DERE), Monday, 9 August 2010 18:13 (thirteen years ago) link

or would you just break it down like for example:

rum
tequila
vodka
gin
scotch
brandy
bourbon
whiskey
congac
schnapps
jenever
mezcal
ouzo
armagnac
chiew
applejack

i think this is just too much. an all encompassing booze poll, i mean...

the food poll was a mishmash of ingredients, specific foods, and whole dish-styles. i guess that kind of works for booze too, in some ways, since, say 'drambuie' and 'chartreuse' are brands as well as the only thing of its kind.

but man, i dunno.

as someone who deals with categorizing information and someone who loves to drink this is really bugging me out

unicum vs malört would be kind of fantastic, particularly if you had to taste-test before voting

again I think a (pass) option is key here

I'mna bet there's nobody here who will have tried all 64, no matter what we end up with

iatee, Monday, 9 August 2010 18:51 (thirteen years ago) link

fully support jaymc's 16 btw

iatee, Monday, 9 August 2010 18:52 (thirteen years ago) link

ONE example for each is a great idea too

iatee, Monday, 9 August 2010 18:53 (thirteen years ago) link

ha i bet i will have tried all 64, but i realize that i am a special case

Alright, I'm going to work this thing up.

Its going to be an all-alcoholic bevs poll, out of the interest of seeing a good bit of trans-category conflict.

I'm going to keep jaymc's 16 beers.
