As a side note, oOoOO wins for our favorite witch house band name, with runner-up awards going to GL▲SS †33†H, GR†LLGR†LL and ℑ⊇≥◊≤⊆ℜ.
this whole scene is a parody of itself and i can't wait for everyone to get bored with this

dig the idea of this genre. spotted a white ring/ooooo song on emusic, which led me to another song on the same label:

is this "witch house"? i sure like it. it's electronic, cut-up stuff.

White Ring and Robert Disaro UK tour. If only there was a way of finding out the venues of said gigs - Google is really not compatible with this genre at all.

there's a song by a band whose name I can't remember--though one of the words in the name is RADIO with the A being replaced by one of those triangle thingies--anyway their song Chant samples Badu's Soldier...I thought that was kind of unexpected...
what are the names of the good White Ring songs?

the band you mentioned is LAKE R▲DIO. a band I don't really care for.
Suffocation and lxC999 are White Ring songs I like, but I am also a sucker for drum machines and the intentionally spooky.

much more industrial than what i usually associate with ... the genre this thread is about. caught these guys live in bk sort of by accident and it was all fog machines and pounding drums and some dudes were there with really extreme industrial haircuts. i guess it was only a matter of time

there's more differences than similarities in these bands for all of them to be put under one big tent, me thinks. I still don't get why this particular trend in electronic music is getting so much attention among those that have bothered to check for it. It's like hype for the sake of hype. What are we averaging now, a new buzz genre to hate every 3 months? That said, the guy behind ooOoOO has very interesting ideas and I think of all the acts, this will be the one to release songs that I'll want to hear the same time next year.

Is anyone else familiar w/ this dude? His myspace claims that he invented witch house, which I hadn't even known existed til I saw him randomly at DIY-venue concert. He opened up for Crystal Castles on NYE in Boulder a week back. I've talked to him personally but sort of consider him a douche, just on the superficial "look at what i'm wearing" level. http://plainpictures.blogspot.com/2010/11/13-rules-to-make-great-witch-house-song.html

Are Holy Other witch house, then? Heard "Your Love" randomly on the radio last night (OK, not randomly, on one of Erol Alkan's radio shows) and was completely struck by it, but out of context it seemed a lot more ambient-ish, like a slowed-down fuzzy version of The Field. But I'm hopeless with trying to get my head around genre. And I didn't really like the other MP3 that's floating around the interweb.
Anyway, I like it.
