From John’s website:
"Happy fall everyone. I’ve had a good year of recording, working at Tiny Telephone, buying all kinds of crazy heirloom tomatoes at the Alemany farmer’s market, and living the domestic life. Let’s celebrate by downloading my new EP, Green Grow The Rushes." Green Grow the Rushes is a lovely EP John is giving away for free at http://www.johnvanderslice.com/

I am super proud of this record! It features: Ian Bjornstad, Carla Kihlstedt, Daniel Hart (St. Vincent), Matthias Bossi, George Ban-Weiss, and Ben Goldberg (who plays all the clarinets on "Penthouse Window"). Jim Eno from Spoon produced and engineered "Lay Down."

I've been listening to a side project from the TrueAnon podcast where their producer Yung Chomsky has created an audio documentary of the history of the Tiny Telephone studio via interviews with John Vanderslice and a number of the collaborators/musicians who recorded there.
On all the usual podcast places, here's a soundcloud playlist: https://soundcloud.com/trueanonpod/sets/keep-the-dream-alive
hits all the notes you'd expect so far, the old weird SF and its decline as the city changes, the vagaries of running a studio, etc
