I started out as 'elizabeth anne marjorie' then used 'haloist' then 'halo halo' or just 'halo'. I don't know if I want to continue using 'spectra' because I use it in other contexts and I think I would prefer to have something ILX-specific.

But every time I see "halo" it brings the Chills song halo fading to mind (and relatedly it was involved in this thing me and a teenagehood friend had between us which I don't want to be reminded of) and "halo halo" brings a beautiful intense Scott walker song to mind.

how come no-one is telling their name changes! are you all being secret. I'm sure some people have changed...where is mandee wolfshirt by the way anyone?

I think I am ready to stop posting with my stupid name...maybe. But how will people know I have changed? Unless I do a "formerly known as..." email address like Chris V. But I fear loosening my grip on the statscock. I think I might hide in this name a bit longer. Arguments FOR and AGAINST silly ILX names?

it's like band names, they're funny/clever/frought with meaning for the ten minutes after you think them up. then you have to live with them, but it's better to be recognized (and statscocked) than to go through the ridiculous process of convincing everybody you're still you.

If you change your name, you should do one of those ... what are they called? Where it's like "how do you get from LAMB to STAR in five steps, changing one letter at a time, making sure each step is a real word in its own right"? You should do that. Ease us in. We might not even notice.

Either that, or change it entirely, and introduce the new you by flaming the old you on one of the threads, and we'll figure the old you was like scared off by your massive flameage or something, and the new you has replaced him, like a cowboy in a knife fight.
