Sarcastically saying "ya think?" as a sort of sarcastic "no shit."

I also hate this, which I see ALL the time in Pitchfork reviews and Videogum and the like:
Starting the second part of a thought about a person/musician with "Dude" instead of "The dude".
Something like:
"Bonnie Prince Billy puts out a lot of albums. Dude is prolific."
That drives me crazy.
― She Got the Shakes, Thursday, 14 October 2010 10:29 (thirteen years ago) link
And speaking of Stereogum and Videogum (and I've seen this on other sites/blogs as well), I fucking HATE how they use the phrase "you guys" in their headlines as part of a kind of "hey, we're all buddies on the internet" casual thing.
"You guys, the trailer for the new whateverthefuckmovie is out. Let's watch after the jump."

or do people say "foodie" to imply that they like spending loads of money on meals out or going to markets all weekend, or dismissing inferior and inauthentic sushi bars or whatev...
This, I think. Feel like it's not really about cooking - more like 'gourmet' for ppl who think saying 'I'm a bit of a gourmet' would sound preposterous.

there was a brief period of time in the late 90s when I would invoke this in conversations by cupping my hands around my mouth and fake-shouting "BUUULLSHIIIT! BUUULLSHIIIT!" I think that lasted maybe a week

still tired of terrorist fist bumps, esp. when my kids come back from spending time with a relative or friend of the family who has taught them this "awesome" gesture of solidarity. My kids don't know better, so obv. I bump back, but I'm annoyed with the adults for sure.

maybe - i remember it from highschool - which was late 80s/early 90s - could very well have come from an 80s movie
― sarahel, Thursday, 14 October 2010 22:22 (thirteen years ago) link
I did get a mean laugh at the movie theater though when Sally Struthers came on in a pre-film commercial and said something like "I look and feel the best I ever have"
and I semi-ironically yelled out "BULLSHIT". I was more making fun of dumb humor than of Sally Struthers though.
